What is Fungazol?
Fungazol is a ketoconazole 200mg tablet for the treatment of
dermal, hair, and nail fungal and/or yeast infection and vaginal candidiasis.
Dose and Administration
Adult:
- Skin, hair, nails, GI tract and systemic infection: 1
tablet once daily with a meal. If an adequate response is not obtained, the
dose may be increased to 2 tablets once daily.
- Vaginal candidosis: 2 tablets once daily with a meal for 5
consecutive days.
Duration:
- Skin mycoses induced by dermatophytes: approx. 4 weeks
- pityriasis Versicolor: 10 days
- Oral or skin mycoses induced by Candida: 2-3 weeks
- Hair infection: 1-2 months
- Nail infection: 6-12 months, also determined by the speed
of nail growth (a full outgrowth of the affected nail is required)
- Systemic candidosis: 1-2 months
- Paracoccidioidomycosis, histoplasmosis,
coccidioidomycosis: the optimum duration of therapy should be continued for at
least 6 months
